It’s Nurses Week again. It’s that time of the year when nurses (teachers and mothers) are celebrated and appreciated even though they should be EVERY DAY of the week. For this nurses week, you might’ve gotten a free lunch, a thank-you email from leadership, or maybe even one of those canvas tote bags (that you’ll probably use to carry home more work).
Or worse, you’re probably having a potluck party where you have to BRING YOUR OWN FOOD.
While I’ll never turn down free coffee, I think we all know this week brings up something deeper…
Because real appreciation? It looks like fair pay. It looks like safe staffing. It looks like having enough time to pee on a 12-hour shift.
But I’m not here to rant — I’m here to help you shift.
Because while we may not be able to change the hospital system overnight…
we can start taking back control of our money, our time, and our future.
👩⚕️ You Are More Than Just Your Job
One thing I want you to remember as a nurse, is that you are smart. You’re resourceful. You’ve taken care of people through chaos, burnout, and broken systems.
And yet — how many times have you said things like:
- “I make good money but I don’t know where it all goes.”
- “I’m too tired to figure out investing.”
- “I want to do more, but I feel stuck.”
Well, you are not alone.
So many nurses feel this way — especially when we’ve been taught to just work more, grind harder, and pick up extra shifts to get ahead. I did too.
But at some point, we have to stop and ask:
What am I working so hard for?
And is my money actually helping me get there?
💡 What If Nurses Week Was About Empowerment?
This week, I want to invite you to give yourself the kind of appreciation that actually changes your life.
That means:
- Looking at your finances without guilt or shame
- Saying “no” to things that drain your energy
- Starting that investment account you’ve been putting off
- Creating a plan for your money — so your paycheck actually works for you
This is what I teach inside my program, Employ Your Money. And just for this week, you can have a limited access to it for just $77 if you enroll in the FI/RE workshop we hosted a couple of days ago when Nurses Week started.
It’s not just about saving or budgeting. It’s about designing a life that feels free — and learning how to make your income build that life.
