Saving money during the holiday season can be challenging, as there are often many expenses such as gifts, travel, and entertaining. However, there are several strategies you can use to help save money during the holidays:
Have a Holiday Budget
Make a budget and stick to it: Determine how much you can afford to spend on holiday expenses, and then make a list of everything you need to buy or pay for. This will help you keep track of your spending and ensure that you don’t overspend.
Use Cashback Programs
Get paid to shop! I love using cashback programs like Rakuten. Just this year alone, I have made over $100 – this is free money you get from doing something you are about to do already.
Shop around: Don’t be afraid to shop around for the best deals on gifts and other holiday expenses. Look for sales, coupons, and discounts to help lower your costs.
Give DIY gifts
Make your own gifts: Consider making your own gifts rather than buying them. This can be a more personal and cost-effective option.
This year, I made tumblers for the attending physicians I work with. I only spent $20 for each of them which is very budget-friendly!
Cut non-essential expenses
Cut unnecessary expenses: Look for ways to cut back on non-essential expenses during the holiday season. This could include eating out less, canceling subscriptions, or finding ways to save on your monthly bills.
By following these tips, you can help save money during the holidays and still enjoy all the festivities.
